Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you sell miniature calves?

Yes, we do raise, breed, and sell miniature cattle.

How do I know what you have available?

The quickest way to get a response is through our VIP email. Please join our VIP list, located on the home page of this website. Those included in our VIP email list will receive first notice when a calf or calves become available. Please keep in mind that all of our animals are sold on a first come, first serve basis.

How much do they cost?

Our calves range in price from $1,000-$8,000. We raise a variety of miniature breeds, but most will be at a minimum 50% highland influenced. Factors that go into pricing include size, color, fluff, and demand/rarity. As a general rule, the smaller, fluffier, and more colorful the calf is, the higher the price will be.

When are your calves born?

We have calves born throughout the year with the majority arriving earlier in the year.

I just want one as a pet. Can one cow be happy by itself?

Cattle are herd animals, meaning they tend to need a buddy to thrive. We highly recommend planning for at least 2, which usually is not hard to do... they are just so cute why wouldn't you want more than one?

Do highlands/fluffier calves handle the heat okay?

We are located in Northwest Louisiana where it gets very hot and humid during the summer. Highlands tend to shed their coat in the warmer months. We recommend giving them access to good shade and either a pond to take a dip in or a fan with a mister on extremely hot days. Our bull actually likes to stand with his front feet in the water through on the hottest days.

Do you sell bottle calves?

Yes. We do occasionally have bottle babies, however most of our calves are dam raised. Mom raised is usually the healthiest and safest option for the baby.

Do I have to place a deposit to claim a calf?

Yes, we do require a deposit of at least 20% of total price in order to hold any calf. The remainder of payment is due after weaning when calf is picked up by buyer or before calf is placed on transport.

What age do you wean?

We typically like to wean at four months of age. We make sure that each calf is eating plenty grain/hay and like to get more hands on with each baby. They all get introduced to the halter, meaning we put a halter on the baby so that it will become more desensitized to it. This does not mean complete halter breaking/lead training. We do offer that for an additional price, contact us for more information on this. We like to socialize each baby for one to two weeks after weaning. Once we feel that your new baby is ready to go to their new home, we will contact you to schedule pickup.
